1. Who we are

Cat Fortress is an independent online publishing project available at catfortress.com. We publish cat-product comparisons, buying guides and practical information for an international audience.

2. Information we may collect

• Information you provide: your name, email address, subject and message when you use our contact form.
• Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps and referral information recorded in security or server logs.
• Analytics information: page views, approximate location, device type, traffic source and interactions such as outbound-link clicks, when analytics consent has been provided where required.
• Consent information: your cookie preferences and the time those preferences were recorded.

Please do not submit confidential, medical or financial information through the contact form.

3. Cookies and consent

Necessary cookies support essential website functions and security. Optional analytics or marketing technologies are controlled through the cookie banner. You can accept, reject or customize non-essential cookies and change your choice later by clearing or updating your browser cookies.

Where required, Google Consent Mode communicates your consent choice to Google services. Rejecting optional cookies should not prevent access to Cat Fortress content.

4. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 through Site Kit by Google to understand aggregated website usage and improve content. Depending on your consent and location, Google Analytics may process information such as visited pages, device details, approximate geographic information and interactions. Logged-in administrators are excluded from normal tracking.

Google acts under its own terms and privacy documentation. You can also use browser controls or Google’s available opt-out tools.

5. Affiliate links

Some pages contain affiliate links, including links to Amazon. When you follow an affiliate link, the retailer may receive information needed to attribute the referral and may use its own cookies or similar technologies. Amazon OneLink or related international matching may redirect you to a local Amazon store. Retailers process information under their own privacy policies.

Cat Fortress may receive aggregated commission and conversion information, but we do not receive your complete payment-card details from affiliate retailers.

6. Contact forms

Contact-form submissions are used to respond to enquiries, investigate corrections and manage legitimate partnership requests. Messages may be protected by anti-spam and security services. We keep correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary for the enquiry, record-keeping, fraud prevention or legal obligations.

7. Legal bases

Where the GDPR or similar law applies, processing may rely on your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the website, steps taken at your request, or compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.

8. Sharing and service providers

We may use hosting, security, analytics, form-delivery and technical service providers. They may process limited information on our behalf or under their own terms. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect legal rights, or in connection with a legitimate transfer of the website.

We do not sell or rent contact-form information to data brokers.

9. International processing

Some providers may process information outside your country. Where required, providers rely on recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions, contractual protections or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

10. Retention and security

Information is retained only for as long as needed for the purposes described above. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy of information, and withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
